Knitting Classes

 

A variety of knitting classes are offered for adults and children.  Descriptions of each offering are below.

 

SUMMER KNITTING/FIBER ARTS WORKSHOPS

Ideal for children ages 7-14, both novice and experienced knitters.  The workshop will be in a relaxed setting, giving the opportunity to work with a variety of colorful fibers in various textures. 

 

Early knitters will learn the basics of knitting (cast on, cast off, knit and purl stitches).  Knitters who know the basics will be challenged with increasingly difficult knitting skills.  Additionally, , we will be dyeing yarn, working with various felting techniques and making fused glass buttons (to embellish some of the projects made during the week).

 

Kids will have the opportunity to make a variety of projects, some complete by the end of the week and some in the works.  Yarn and patterns will be provided.

 

5 days 9:30 - 12:30pm $195 (includes a $20 material fee)

  • Week 1: June 18 - June 22

  • Week 2: July 16 -  July 20

  • Week 3:  August 6 - August 10

  • Week 4:  August 13 - August 17

CLINICS

Weekly sessions to get help with your current project.  This small, informal clinic allows you to work at your own pace, get helpful advice, learn new skills, and share with other knitters.  A great way to finish that project you put in your closet! 

 

Thursday mornings 9:30 - 11:30am -- $10

During each clinic, I will be showcasing a knitting technique.  For example, one week we might cover types of knitted ruffles; another week I'll show knitting the brioche stitch.
